 My Professional Journey
(So Far)

MY innocent Drinks supply chain days 2001-08

Following my Natural Sciences BSC Hons degree at Durham University, I joined Innocent Drinks in 2001 during its early start-up days. This exposed me to every aspect of building a successful, sustainable household brand. I initially set up the logistics and customer supply function, co-founded the Innocent Foundation, and helped the founders launch the brand in continental Europe.

From Supply Chain to SUSTAINABILITY - INNOCENT 2008 - 2020

In 2009, I completed my MSc in Sustainable Environmental Management, which allowed me to focus my efforts on growing the sustainability function at innocent, which I ended up heading up. During this time, I pioneered an award-winning water stewardship project, galvanised Innocent’s commitment to recycled and sustainable plastics, and step-changed sustainability engagement across the organisation.

Using my experience and skills to help others - Dot Earth 2020 - Today.

After leaving innocent, I became a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management (FIEMA) and a freelance sustainability expert. I work with consumer brands of all shapes and sizes, helping them all become better versions of themselves. If you are committed to your sustainability journey and are looking for some help making the change, I would love to help.

SUStAINAbility Lead

“Lou’s ability to balance commercial realities and sustainability have been a true asset to innocent. Whether building the case to significantly drive up the recycled content in our packaging or making the case for a more active stance on the circular economy. She worked tirelessly to make us believe that a better world is indeed possible, and that innocent can be a part of creating it. With strong communication skills, her ability to link our sustainability goals seamlessly to our company vision and purpose meant she was able to get strong buy-in for a unified approach right across the business, in multiple countries and cultural contexts.! “
